My wife and I did the 2 day Beijing tour. We scheduled our tour 3 months in advance. So, when it was time to pay the bill, there was a bit of a sticker shock. But now, after looking back at everything we did, it was worth it. All of the entrance fees were taking care of (that meant avoiding the ticket lines), and with Beijing, there’s a lot of driving involved. You get lunch each day while choosing what to eat. And, you get a personal tour guide and driver. Our driver was very good, he was patient, calm, while still being an aggressive enough driver to get us to our locations on time. The driver didn’t speak English, but he really didn’t have to. I can’t say enough good things about our tour guide, Bella. Her English was very good, and she was willing to talk about not only the historical sites, but also every day Chinese lives. And, she gave us so much information about the sites, that we’ll never be able to remember them all. Every time we look at the pictures or describe things to friends we have facts to give that make it more interesting. The stories enriched our experience while there, and now that we’re back home we’re more interested in the Chinese history and people.
