Notes:
1. Free admission for children 6 years old or younger and children under 1.2 meters (3.9 feet) in height.
2. For minors between 6 and 18 years old, the admission ticket price is CNY 20 and the ticket for Treasure Gallery and Clocks and Watches Gallery each is CNY5.
3. Seniors older than 60 can enjoy half price for both the entrance tickets and the tickets for the two galleries.
4. The Annual Ticket (CNY 300 for 10 entries a year) only applies to Chinese citizens.

The Palace of Heavenly Purity, situated within the Forbidden City, stands as the largest edifice among the three rear palaces. Historically, it served as the sleeping quarters for the Emperor. However, during the reigns of Emperor Shunzhi and Emperor Kangxi, this grand structure took on additional roles, functioning as an audience chamber for receiving foreign envoys and high-ranking governmental officials.
Numerous significant events unfolded within the Palace of Heavenly Purity, marking important occasions in the imperial calendar. Festivals such as New Year’s Day, the Lantern Festival, Duanwu Festival, Mid-autumn Festival, Chongyang Festival, Winter Solstice, and the Emperor’s birthday were celebrated here with great pomp and ceremony. It was during these moments that the Emperor would receive congratulations from his officials and host lavish feasts to commemorate the occasions.
Historical records detail two particularly noteworthy banquets held within the Palace of Heavenly Purity. The first banquet was organized by the emperors to express gratitude to their subjects for their unwavering support and significant contributions to the nation. The second banquet, spearheaded by Emperor Qianlong, was a remarkable affair wherein over 3,000 elderly men aged 65 and above from diverse backgrounds were granted the rare privilege of attendance, presenting a testament to the Emperor’s benevolence and reverence for his subjects.
