Baiyuan Park

The White Cloud Mountain National Forest Park, established in September 1992, is a natural oasis situated in southern Song County, Luoyang, nestled within the hinterland of the Funiu Mountain Ridge. Encompassing a vast area of 168 square kilometers (64.9 square miles), this park beckons visitors to immerse themselves in its pristine beauty.

A staggering 98.5 percent of the park is blanketed by lush forests, making it a transition zone between the warm-temperate and subtropical climates. Here, vegetation from both northern and southern China coexists harmoniously, creating a diverse and vibrant ecosystem. The park boasts an impressive array of biodiversity, with 204 species of animals, 1,991 types of plants, and 3,000 varieties of insects.

Among the natural wonders found within the White Cloud Mountain National Forest Park are ancient and rare foliage such as the cercidiphyllum and alpine rhododendron, along with precious animal species including the giant salamander, leopard, and golden eagle.
