Situated at No.5 East Beichen Road in Chaoyang District, Beijing, the China Science and Technology Museum stands adjacent to the National Stadium within the heart of Olympic Park. Established in 1988, it holds the distinction of being China’s sole state-level comprehensive science and technology museum. Following the inauguration of its new exhibition building in 2009, the museum expanded to encompass four floors, offering insights into cutting-edge developments across various scientific disciplines such as aerospace, energy, transportation, materials science, information technology, and environmental studies.

Through an array of vibrant exhibits, interactive displays, engaging experiments, and state-of-the-art multimedia presentations, visitors are provided with accessible explanations of complex scientific theories and technological advancements. Serving as a vital platform for science outreach and the enhancement of public scientific literacy and innovation capabilities, the museum plays a significant role in fostering a deeper understanding of science among citizens.

Comprising five permanent exhibition halls—including “Science Paradise” on the first floor northwest area, “Glory of China” on the first floor, “Exploration and Discovery” on the second floor, “Sci-tech and Life” on the third floor, and “Challenge and Future” on the fourth floor—the Science and Technology Museum also features a short-term exhibition hall and four specialized theaters: the Dome Theater, Huge-screen Theater, Motion Theater, and 4D Theater. Additionally, the museum houses numerous laboratories, classrooms, science education lecture halls, and multipurpose spaces to facilitate diverse educational experiences and activities.
