Xihu Longjing

Xihu Longjing Tea, also known as West Lake Dragon Well Tea, is a renowned variety of green tea grown in the vicinity of West Lake in Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province, China. It is considered one of the finest green teas in China and holds a special place in Chinese tea culture.

The name “Longjing” translates to “Dragon Well,” a reference to a local well near the Longjing Village where the tea originated. Legend has it that a dragon residing in the well brought rain to the area, hence the name. Longjing Tea has a history dating back over a thousand years, with records of its cultivation and consumption dating back to the Tang Dynasty (618-907 AD).

Xihu Longjing Tea is meticulously crafted using tender leaves from the Camellia sinensis plant. The tea leaves are hand-picked in early spring when they are at their freshest. After harvesting, the leaves undergo a precise process of withering, frying, shaping, and drying, resulting in its distinctive flat, sword-shaped appearance and refreshing flavor profile.
