The Forbidden City	The Forbidden City was the imperial palace from the Ming and Qing Dynasties. It is located in the middle of Beijing,, and now houses the Palace Museum. The palace complex exemplifies traditional Chinese palatial architecture,and has influenced cultural and architectural developments in East Asia and elsewhere. The Forbidden City was declared a World Heritage Site in 1987,and is listed by UNESCO as the largest collection of preserved ancient wooden structures in the world.
The Great Wall	The Great Wall of China is a series of fortifications made of stone, brick, tamped earth, wood, and other materials, generally built along an east-to-west line across the historical northern borders of China in part to protect the Chinese Empire or its prototypical states against intrusions by various nomadic groups or military incursions by various warlike peoples or forces The Great Wall stretches from Shanhaiguan in the east, to Lop Lake in the west, along an arc that roughly delineates the southern edge of Inner Mongolia. The Great Wall of China is one of the ‘Eight Wonders of the World’ and is enlisted in the World Heritage Directory
Tian’anmen Square	The Tiananmen Square is the largest central city square in the world, which serves not only Beijing’s symbol but also the whole of China. Used as a massive meeting place since its creation, its flatness is contrasted by the 38-meter (125 ft) high Monument to the People’s Heroes, and the Mausoleum of Mao Zedong.Along the west side of the Square is the Great Hall of the People. Along the east side is the National Museum of China . Chang’an Avenue, which is used for parades, lies between the Tian’anmen and the Square.
Temple of Heaven	The Temple of Heaven is one of several worship sites in the capital where the emperors offered sacrifices. Its location in the city derives from the notion that yang,the mal vital principle,is located n the south;and as Heaven is yang,it should be worshipped in the southern suburbs of the capital.
