Qing was highly recommended to me by a friend who used her services in 2008. We we not disappointed! From the moment I first contacted her, she proved to be competent, flexible and friendly.
Her company’s website was easy to navigate, full of information that I was able to read through to put together the perfect tour for the people with whom I’d be touring.
Our group was a little larger on the first day when we went visit the Great Wall and the Summer Palace. We were able to adapt our start time so that we could accommodate some of our party who were just flying in. We also opted for a larger van which was perfect for our group – more space for our larger and taller frames to spread out.
The next two days our group shrunk in half because the others had to attend a meeting, we visited the Temple of Heaven park. It was one of my favourite things – watching the local people participate in so many different activities – ball room and belly dancing, table tennis and ‘haki sak’ type games, chess and mahjong, as well as an assortment of various martial art type activities and even some Chinese opera. Qing seemed to know just where to lead us and she was always full of information and explanations. After our morning stroll we headed out for lunch before touring Tienanmen Square and the Forbidden City. Both fascinating places.
We had a taste of everything over the three days especially on the last day when we went on a local food tasting tour and visited a genuine hutong to meet with some people that lived there. Each day we allowed Qing to pick the places where we ate and we were never disappointed – lots of freshly prepared tasty dishes.
If ever I return to Beijing, I will certainly call on Qing and Discover Beijing again – I noticed she can arrange tours to see the Terracotta soldiers as well. Next time!
