6-Day Visa-Free Entry to Guilin for ASEAN Tour Groups – Resumed from March 15, 2023
Renowned as a top tourist destination in China and around the globe, Guilin has introduced a 240-Hour Visa-Free Transit Policy for international transit passengers from over 50 countries starting in December 2024. Additionally, Guilin has recently implemented a new 6-Day Visa-Free policy at Guilin Liangjiang International Airport specifically for tourists from ASEAN (the Association of Southeast Asian Nations) countries, effective as of May 28th, 2019. These new policies aim to streamline the travel process and provide visitors with increased flexibility to explore the picturesque city of Guilin.
Who can Apply for the 6-Day Guilin Free Visa?
The 144-hour visa-free entry to Guilin is exclusively available to tourist groups holding ordinary passports from the 10 ASEAN member countries. Travelers from other nations can explore our Guilin 72-Hour Visa-Free Transit program, which is open to citizens from 53 countries, as well as China’s Visa-Free Policy, which caters to various situations for different nationalities.
Please note that each group must consist of a minimum of 2 tourists, and all members must enter and exit through the same port at the same time.

What are the Requirements to Get 144-Hour Visa-Free Entry in Guilin?
● Hold ordinary passport of ASEAN Countries
Foreign visitors are required to present a valid passport or international travel documents as proof of identity. It is important to note that the visa-free policy only applies to citizens of the 10 designated ASEAN countries.
● Visit Guilin in Tour Group
At present, visa-free access is only granted to group tourists, rather than individual travelers. To qualify for this exemption, a tour group must include a minimum of two tourists.
● Enter & Exit via Guilin Liangjiang International Airport
Guilin Liangjiang International Airport is the only designated port for travelers utilizing the 6-day visa-free policy in Guilin. Therefore, entry from any other port will be refused.
How to Apply Guilin 6-Day Free Visa?
Step 1: Before embarking on your Guilin visa-free tour, it is essential to contact a reputable travel agency in Guilin for assistance. Ensure that the agency is approved by the National Tourist Administration to organize and host foreign tour groups.
Step 2: Once you have selected an authorized travel agency, confirm your travel itinerary and provide your personal information. The agency will then submit the necessary details of the travel group and tourists to the Immigration Authority in Guilin before your arrival. A tourist list will be submitted to the Exit & Entry Administration one hour prior to your arrival.
Step 3: Upon reaching Guilin, complete the Arrival Card and proceed through the specialized “Fast Track” to the visa-free counter.
Step 4: Have all required documents ready, including your passport and flight ticket, for border inspection and customs clearance.
Step 5: Depart from Guilin Liangjiang International Airport with your fellow group members to commence your Guilin tour.
During your stay in Guilin, it is important to remain within the administrative regions and not exceed 144 hours. You are free to explore downtown Guilin, as well as visit Yangshuo and Longsheng, which are considered the essential destinations of Guilin.
