Hani Village

Opening Hours:All Day Long
Admission Fee:¥100

Qingkou Hani Village stands as a prime example of a traditional Hani settlement nestled amidst the breathtaking scenery of the Yuanyang rice terraces, situated just 6 kilometers south of Xinjie Town in Yuanyang County, Yunnan Province.

Perched serenely on the forested mountainside, Qingkou offers a panoramic view of the meticulously crafted rice terraces that cascade down the mountainsides, a testament to the ingenuity of the Hani people over centuries. The village itself comprises typical Hani mushroom-shaped houses constructed from clay, stone, brick, or bamboo, topped with thatched roofs made of straw. These houses, built in three layers, with the bottom serving as space for livestock and the middle floor housing most living quarters, reflect the traditional architectural style of the Hani ethnic minority.

At the heart of the village lies the stone-paved Central Square, a focal point for community gatherings and activities. With 150 households and over 800 residents, Qingkou Hani Village remains steeped in ancient Hani folk customs, serving as a living embodiment of the rich terraced fields culture.

Visitors to Qingkou can marvel at the stunning terraced landscapes that stretch across the horizon, adorned with vibrant vegetation that blankets the mountainsides in a kaleidoscope of colors. The village’s local markets, though not bustling every day, offer a fascinating glimpse into the region’s vibrant culture and commerce.
