From June 2014, Mutianyu Section of the Wall start to use their new entrance ,from there everyone have to walk around 5 minutes through the market to the shuttle bus, and take their shuttle bus to the foot of the Great Wall. This will waste at least half an hour on the road, so if you want the tour more relax please choose the Mutianyu Great Wall Day Tour, combine two sites in one day only allow tourists to spend certain time at each site.

On the way to The Mutianyu Great Wall, if traffic allows, stop to photograph the iconic “Bird’s Nest“– the Beijing National Stadium–host to many spectacular events of the 2008 Summer Olympics.
Once arrive at the The Mutianyu Great Wall,you’ll enjoy a less hurried experience and take time to marvel at this wondrous structure and the surrounding hillsides.The Mutianyu Great Wall is known for its beautiful surroundings – dense woods and rich pastures changing colors with the seasons of the year. Built mainly from granite, the pass at Mutianyu is an appropriately unique section of the Great Wall. 7 to 8 meters high, and 4 to 5 meters high with crenellations on both sides of the Wall, the section of the Wall at Mutianyu stretches for over 2 kilometers.

Then exploring one of the world’s largest public areas—Tiananmen Square, home to the National Museum of China, the mausoleum of Mao Zedong and the great Monument to the Peoples’ Heroes. Pass through the south gate to the magnificent Forbidden City, a 250-acre complex of courtyards, palaces, pavilions and gardens, which served as the imperial palace for emperors and their households for more than 500 years
The Forbidden City, was the imperial palace from the Ming and Qing Dynasties. It is located in the middle of Beijing,, and now houses the Palace Museum. For almost 500 years, it served as the home of emperors and their households, as well as the ceremonial and political center of Chinese government.
The palace complex exemplifies traditional Chinese palatial architecture,and has influenced cultural and architectural developments in East Asia and elsewhere.

Forbidden City is not open on Monday afternoon,so try to avoid Monday if you want to book this tour
Forbidden City stop sell tickets at 3:30pm(1st of nov –31st of March) or 4pm(1st of April to 31st of Oct),so make sure you arrive the Tian’anmen square no late than 3pm
It’s a heavy day with a lot of hiking. So be sure to wear comfortable shoes and have a good sleep the day before
