We visited Beijing for two days as part of a cruise. Qing did an outstanding job of all the arrangements, and was very responsive and helpful leading up to our arrival. We were collected in Tianjing port by our driver (who did an excellent job for the two days in some challenging traffic), and picked up our wonderful guide Bella as we got close to the centre of Beijing.
In the course of the first day we visited Tiananmen Square, the Forbidden City, and the Summer Palace – all of them places we could have spent much longer in, but a cruise ship won’t wait! Having stayed overnight in central Beijing, the following day we had a rickshaw ride around one of the few remaining areas of old Beijing, including a visit to a lovely lady’s home there, and then headed to the Great Wall at Mutianyu; an awe-inspiring creation set in stunning scenery with an all-new visitor centre.
The sights were amazing, but it was our guide Bella who made the visit a truly memorable experience. She is an outstanding professional – knowledgeable, engaging, fun and so helpful. She brought everything we saw to life, and made sure we got the most out of our visit.
