Itinerary Quick Look

Day 1:  Tian’anmen Square, Forbidden City, Peking Duck Lunch,  Lama Temple , Hutong Neighbourhood (L)

The driver and tour guide will meet you in the lobby of your hotel. . Experience the grandeur of Tian’anmen Square, one of the world’s largest public areas, with the convenience of a travel agency’s fast-track entrance. Pass through the south gate to the Forbidden City and embark on a guided tour through its halls and courtyards. Immerse yourself in the rich history and stories of this massive palace as you visit its most important buildings.

Enjoy a Peking duck lunch at a local eatery near the Forbidden City. Peking duck is a world – famous Beijing specialty. The duck is roasted to a beautiful, crispy golden – brown. When served, the thin, crispy skin is often sliced first and eaten with thin pancakes, scallions, and a special sauce. The tender meat is also delicious, either in the pancakes or on its own. It’s a must – try dish that perfectly represents the rich culinary culture of Beijing.

Move on to the Lama Temple. Lama Temple is one of the largest and most important Tibetan Buddhist monasteries in the world.  The Lama Temple  also houses a 26-meter tall statue of Maitreya Buddha carved from a single piece of sandalwood. Visitors can witness monks performing rituals and prayers throughout the day, adding to the spiritual atmosphere of the temple.

Continue to the Drum Tower to see a drum performance, and take a rickshaw (at your own cost)on a trip through local Hutong alleyways.

Day 2: Beijing Zoo, Summer Palace, Chinese Dumpling Lunch, Ming Tombs (L)

Morning: Start at the Beijing Zoo, home to a diverse range of animals, including the beloved giant pandas. Then, visit the Summer Palace, a beautiful imperial garden. Stroll along the lake, ascend Longevity Hill, and admire traditional Chinese architecture like the Hall of Benevolence and Longevity.

Afternoon: Drive to the Ming Tombs. You can choose to visit the Sacred Way, Dingling Mausoleum, or Changling Mausoleum to explore the tombs of Ming emperors.

Day 3: Mutianyu Great Wall + Hot Pot Lunch + Olympic Park+ 798 or Panjiayuan Flea Market (L)

Your driver and tour guide will meet you at the hotel lobby at 8:30am for departure to the Mutianyu section of the Great Wall. More rugged and slightly less crowded than more famous Badaling section of the Wall, more than 96% of Mutianyu is covered with lush trees and orchards.

798 Art Zone: This is a vibrant art district located in the Dashanzi area of Beijing. It was originally a group of 1950s – era factory buildings, which have been transformed into a hub for contemporary art galleries, creative studios, design shops, and trendy cafes. Here, you can explore a wide range of art forms, from avant – garde paintings and sculptures to experimental installations. The unique industrial – style architecture of the area adds a special charm to the artistic atmosphere.

Panjiayuan Flea Market: Known as the “No.1 Flea Market in China”, Panjiayuan is a paradise for antique lovers and bargain – hunters. It offers a vast array of items, including porcelain, jade, calligraphy and paintings, old books, traditional handicrafts, and various collectibles. Wandering through the market, you can not only hunt for unique souvenirs but also experience the lively and bustling atmosphere of a traditional Chinese market, and even practice your haggling skills.

Day 4: Beijing Temple of Heaven – Gubei Water Town + Dinner at Gubei Water Town (L)

The driver and tour guide will meet you in the lobby of your hotel. Today marks the beginning of your exploration, starting with the Temple of Heaven. This historical site was once frequented by the emperors of the Ming and Qing dynasties for their annual prayer ceremonies. Capture stunning photos of the temple and witness the locals engaging in their morning exercises, such as Tai Chi, dancing, and various exercises amidst the lush pine woods.

Continue to Gubei Water Town, a themed resort nestled by picturesque canals that offers a serene escape reminiscent of the Southern Yangtze River water towns. As you wander through the cobblestone streets, you will have numerous opportunities to capture tranquil lake views, ancient stone bridges, elegant pavilions, and traditional northern Chinese architecture.
