Day 1 Xining Arrival

Welcome to Xining, the capital city of Qinghai Province in northwestern China. At an altitude of 2,261 meters, Xining offers a unique experience due to its high elevation. Visitors may need some time to acclimatize to the altitude, which can affect energy levels and breathing. However, the breathtaking views and fresh mountain air make Xining a memorable destination for those seeking a different kind of travel experience.

Day 2 Xining – Kanbula National Forest Park – Guide (B, L )

After breakfast, set out for today’s geography adventure to Kanbula National Forest Park and Guide Geopark in southern Qinghai Province.

Kanbula National Forest Park is situated at the meeting point of the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau and the Loess Plateau, just 100km away from Xining, which translates to a convenient 1.5-hour drive. This unique location offers visitors a diverse natural landscape to explore, from rugged mountains to lush forests, making it an ideal destination for nature enthusiasts looking to immerse themselves in the beauty of these two distinct regions.The park showcases a variety of natural wonders, such as the unique Danxia landform and its breathtaking landscape. Grotesque peaks, squared mountains, and deep caves add to the park’s charm. Lofty cliffs provide stunning views, while the presence of dozens of wild animals and rich plant resources enhance the park’s biodiversity.

Since the Kanbula National Forest Park is so big and there are so many things to see and experience, you will explore the park with the help of park bus and dam cruise ship.Upon entering the park, visitors will board a park bus that will transport them to various sightseeing spots. This convenient mode of transportation allows visitors to effortlessly explore the park’s attractions in sequence, ensuring that no spot is missed during the visit.

Leaving Kanbula National Forest Park, you will drive about 65km  to Guide Geopark. Nestled within the colorful Danxia Landform, the Ashigong Scenic Area is a breathtaking valley that showcases the natural beauty of this unique geological formation. The vibrant hues of the rocks and cliffs in the valley create a picturesque setting that is sure to captivate visitors with its stunning landscapes. Exploring this area allows travelers to immerse themselves in the beauty of nature and experience the awe-inspiring sights of the Danxia Landform up close.

Day 3 Guide – Qinghai Lake – Xining (B, L )

After breakfast, drive about 135km to the picturesque Qinghai Lake.Driving through picturesque landscapes like green grasslands, clear blue skies, fluffy white clouds, and herds of animals can truly be a feast for the eyes. The ever-changing scenery unfolding before you, like a living photo gallery, can keep you captivated and prevent any feelings of boredom during your journey. The beauty of nature can be a wonderful companion on the road, making the drive an enjoyable and visually stimulating experience.

At the heart of the Erlangjian Scenic Area lies the breathtaking beauty of Qinghai Lake. The stunning scenery of the lake captivates visitors with its crystal-clear waters and surrounding mountains. The serene ambiance of the area offers a perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Whether you are admiring the reflections of the sky on the tranquil waters or exploring the diverse flora and fauna of the region, Qinghai Lake in Erlangjian Scenic Area is sure to leave you in awe of its natural splendor.

Day 4 Xining Departure (B, L)

After breakfast, drive approximately 28 km,  to reach the renowned Kumbum Monastery. Inside this grand temple complex, the fusion of Tibetan and traditional Chinese architectural styles is truly captivating. The vibrant colors and intricate decorations blend harmoniously, creating a unique and visually striking atmosphere. The combination of these two distinct architectural styles showcases a beautiful synthesis of cultural influences, making the temple complex a truly remarkable sight to behold.

Next, drive 37 km  to visit the Tibetan Medicine & Tibet Culture Museum.The theme museum showcasing Tibetan medicine and folk culture provides a unique insight into the rich heritage of Tibet. Visitors can delve into the traditional practices and beliefs that have been passed down through generations. The exhibits offer a glimpse into the profound healing methods and cultural traditions that are integral to the Tibetan way of life.

After lunch, transfer to Dongguan Mosque，Dongguan Mosque in Qinghai is a significant religious site for Muslims, renowned as one of the top four mosques in Northwest China. It serves as a sacred sanctuary and the most prestigious Islamic study center in the region. With its rich history and cultural significance, Dongguan Mosque offers visitors a unique insight into the Islamic heritage of Qinghai.
