Itinerary Quick Look

Start your tour with a morning pickup from your Beijing hotel lobby, then travel to Tian’anmen Square. Vast and history steeped, the huge open space is one of the world’s largest central squares, and is lined with significant buildings and monuments. Wander past the Great Hall of People and the National Museum, and hear the history behind Mao’s Mausoleum and the Monument to the People’s Heroes.

Continue through Tian’anmen Gate to the Forbidden City and visit all its key sites including the Meridian Gate; the halls of harmony, heavenly purity, earthly tranquility, and unity; and the tree-lined pathways of the Imperial Garden.

Stroll out of the north gate, then travel onward to an authentic Chinese restaurant for a lunch. Vegetarian dishes are also available.

In the afternoon, you’ll continue to the Summer Palace for a tour of the magnificent palace complex, complete with its gardens, pavilions, and temples. Kunming Lake and landmarks such as Longevity Mountain and the Marble Boat are just a few of the sights you’ll see.

Your day-long tour then ends with a drop-off back at your Beijing hotel.
