Itinerary Quick Look
Start with pickup from your hotel in downtown Xiamen and relax in a comfortable vehicle as your guide drives you to the ferry for Gulangyu Island. Cross over azure waters on your way to this tranquil, pedestrian-only island.
Upon arrival, climb to the highest peak on the island at Sunlight Rock and admire the island from a bird’s-eye view. Visit the lush landscapes and ponds in the Shuzhuang Garden, which houses the only piano museum in China.
Return to the main land by ferry and be treated to a delicious lunch at a popular local restaurant. After lunch, visit the South Putuo Temple, which was first built in the Tang Dynasty and houses a famous collection of Buddhist cultural relics.
Next, head to the Hulishan Fortress, built in 1891 and integrated with the styles of the Ming and Qing Dynasties. Stand on the well-preserved ancient military facilities, like the gates, walls, emplacements, the barracks, the castle, the trenches, and the fortifications.
