My husband and I had the opportunity to go on a 3 country trip, China being one of the countries. We decided last minute, and booked the tickets only a week and a half before we left for Australia(our first country). We basically looked up the highest reviews from Trip Advisor and found ‘Discover Beijing Tours’ had awesome reviews. Boy we are so glad we found them! First of all, the owner couldn’t meet us because she was already doing another tour but asked if we minded if she sent someone that worked for her, Lily. (Lily was a wonderful guide that spoke great English too, she was fantastic!) They sent us a clear, concise itinerary, which was a huge relief. After emails back and forth, always that were returned within 24 hours, (Love that) we booked with them. For about $360 USD per person we were treated SO well and got to see MANY things in Beijing!
First, Lily and her driver picked us up at the airport. That was a HUGE convenience and helped us so much, especially because most of the taxi drivers don’t speak English. We don’t speak chinese, and they were waiting for us with a sign that had our names. We were so grateful. Next we met with our driver, and were pleasantly suprised it was just the 4 of us. Even when things say private, there is almost always another couple of people along. Not in this case, which was fantastic. They drove to our hotel, where we checked in, dropped off our luggage (again, very thoughtful), then went to Tiananmen Square. Along Tiananmen Square there are many sights, one being the Forbidden City. We also rode in a rig shaw, climbed up the Drum Tower, and visited a local home where a family lived. We also had a wonderful lunch. All of the driving, the tickets into the sights, activities and the lunch were all part of the tour. We didn’t have to pay for one thing that day, it was lovely and so nice not to have to worry about changing our money 🙂
The next day they picked us up at our hotel where we did the Great Wall of China for a number of hours, lunch, then drove to the Summer Palace. After the Summer Palace we went to a Chinese Acrobatic show and finished with a Peking Duck Dinner and a Night Market visit. I was so incredibly impressed with everything. With the exception of the souveniers we bought everything was included in their price, there were no hidden fees and we packed in so much for 2 days.
I would highly recommend this tour group to anyone and we had a great time! Thank you Discover Beijing Tours!
