Wulong Karst National Geology Park is a breathtaking natural wonder renowned for its unique karst geological formations. This park showcases a diverse range of karst features, including mesmerizing limestone caves, expansive sinkholes, winding underground rivers, deep canyons, towering limestone peaks, and lush alpine meadows, creating a comprehensive tapestry of natural beauty. It was named as a world natural heritage by UNESCO in 2007. Wulong Karst features spectacular karst landscapes, including the three main parts of Furong Cave, Three Natural Bridges, Houping Giant Doline (Houping Tiankeng) and other scenic spots.

Highlights of the Wulong National Park

Furong Cave

Furong Cave is a natural wonder spanning 2,700 meters in length. Furong Cave offers mesmerizing underground world, marveling at the intricate limestone formations and the awe-inspiring beauty created by millions of years of geological processes. This subterranean adventure offers a unique and captivating experience within the enchanting Wulong Karst landscape. Furong Cave of Wulong Karst National Geology Park is about 2,700 meters (8,858 feet) long, enclosing an area of 37,000 sq meters (44,251 sq yards). There are 100 species of sediment varying from carbonate to sulphur and over 300 scenic spots in the cave.

Fairy Mountain

Three Natural Bridges

Natural bridges: Tianlong Bridge, Qinglong Bridge, and Heilong Bridge showcase the grandeur of nature’s craftsmanship, formed over millions of years through geological processes. These awe-inspiring stone arch bridges are celebrated as one of the most extraordinary natural wonders in Asia and constitute the largest cluster of natural bridges on the continent. Tianlong Bridge is about 656 feet (200 meters) in height, 328 feet (100 meters) in width. It spans 1,476 feet (450 meters), and has two arches from south to north. The Three Natural Bridges is a karst stone arch bridge cluster unrivaled elsewhere of Asia in terms of height and the thickness of the bridge surface. The Three Natural Bridge Scenic Area provided some of the settings for the 2014 Hollywood blockbuster Transformers 4: Age of Extinction.

Longshuixia Gap

Longshuixia Gap is a geological marvel shaped by ancient tectonic movements millions of years ago. This 5-kilometer-long canyon plunges to depths of 200 to 500 meters, showcasing quintessential karst topography. On either side of the gap, towering cliffs and precipitous rock walls create a dramatic and breathtaking landscape.
